“Movement as Foundation: Dance + Community in Takoma Park, Maryland”

Landscape Architecture graduate student Annette Griffin will discuss her recent participation in the performance project New Hampshire Ave: This Is a Place To…, an output of modern, intergenerational dance company’s years of engagement efforts within a DC suburb. Conversation topics will include human migration, connection to the unknowable stranger, and dance as a foundational element in the experience of community.

Join Idea Lab as we host Mark Callahan, Artistic Director of Ideas for Creative Exploration (ICE), in our final conversation of the fall semester. Mark’s work has evolved from a traditional printmaking background to experimental multimedia projects. He is a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art and Rhode Island School of Design, where he was a member of the European Honors Program in Rome, Italy.
